Re: Dragon and the F-22A

DEFINITELY debatable. Not that the F-22 has the potential to do great things, just all it has done so far is dominate on paper. It has a long way to go before it earns that title, IMO.

As for a die cast, I am with you that a good one is needed. I'd definitely buy it, as I need one for my Air Force display. Just curious as to why Dragon. The way things are going, it would likely be a year+ after announcement that we'd get anything! If I had to guess, I would predict Witty to be the next to take on the F-22. If they're anything like their F-15's, they could be very nice.

Now I am no HUD expert and despite my avatar, I am not a big F-22 nut BUT that does look like Mach 0.36 and 1.7 G - are those dogfigt numbers? Where are our dogfighting experts?

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

There was a press release on this photo. The super hornet broke rules of engagement to take this shot. Pilot did not get credited for the kill.

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

i couldnt agree more, i NEED a raptor and dragon are one of my favourite makers despite what most people think about them,

oh and while there at it i also need an f-35, any version will do........thanks dragon

I'll second that and th F-35 should also be done as well!

I respect your opinion of course, but if you saw the episode aired on the HISTORY channel last weekend "Dogfights of the Future" it might just changed your opinions about the F-22.

Shouldn't we wait until the the F-35 actually enters service (if it does) before we start clamoring for a diecast version of it?
There are still plenty of airplanes that have made it to operational service that have not been done in diecast yet.

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

i see your point there rush but i'd rather have one now then get an operational version when it enters service as a replacement, even if it was the prototype it would be better than nothing, i would of rather had the YF-22 and waited for a decent operational version of the F-22 than have nothing at all, as you can probably guess i missed out on the Gaincorp Raptor, i just want something F-35 shaped to add to my collection, dont care about versions, dont care about units, if it was dragon quality (F-16, F15 etc) then i'd be really happy

of course i only collect modern jets so its obvious i'd hanker after the 2 most modern USAF ones

You and I are in agreement here as well. I would love to see all 3 prototype versions of the JSF in International, US Navy and Marines made. I prefer to have the protos more than the operational ones simply because I like to see subtle and not so subtle changes made on test birds, but that's just me.

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

I think that since the F-22 has so many operational aircraft with so many units flying the raptor its time for one dont you? I mean the major bases already have aircraft nad have had them for some time now. I mean even if dragon, witty or Hobby master started work on a mould or design now it may take 6 months or a year. By then the F-22 will have two more units flying raptors with two new tailcodes (these being HO and HH) Holloman AFB and Hickam AFB

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

I posted these a couple of weeks ago, but thought I'd post them again. This would make a good looking diorama.

Re: Dragon and the F-22A

NO!!! NO!!! NO!!! We want an F-22A from Dragon!!!! Now it will be a race between witty and dragon to see who gets them out first! Three major concerns on these birds though

1. THEY HAVE TO GET THE COLORATION RIGHT!!!! RAPTORS ARE NOT PAINTED WITH A FLATCOAT!!!

2. Raptors have bombays and bombay doors that OPEN AND CLOSE!!! can we at least get some varation!!

3. The F-22 has gears that go up and down!!!!!!!
