Fw190A-7 with slipper tank ??

I would love to see this one made in a diecast.
I have not heard much about these.

Interesting JP. Haven't seen that before. Surely that would add quite a bit of drag though.

Re: Fw190A-7 with slipper tank ??

It would make for an intersting looking model. Not to many pictures of this aircraft configuration out there. I could only find one photo of this one and it indicated it might have been the only one produced. Neat looking plane though.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Thumbs up Re: Fw190A-7 with slipper tank ??

Very cool CC. It also looks more aerodynamic in the photo.

Tanks on model do look more of a flat surface on the leading edge. Caption for photo indicated that they provided less drag than under wing tanks, but does not look like they went into production. I think I have seen after market resin kits for these before.

Very cool! First time I see something like that. You learn something new everyday. Thanks for the pic, JP.

Re: Fw190A-7 with slipper tank ??

Dragon is making this one in a 1:48 scale plastic kit....
Might be something to build later on.

Too bad Draggin is getting out of the warbird diecast business! If they would just venture into 1/48 diecast production, I've
no doubt they'd make a killing!

Especially if they did a line up of the kits they already have in 1/48th scale. (They have a really nice Fw 190F/Ju 88 Mistel)

That would become the center-piece of my collection!
