Dragon Spitfire Mk. Vb limited or not?

Hi

Dragon Spifire Mk. Vb 4th "USAAF" Tunisia 1943

I just purchased this plane mail order and it said it was limited to 1000. I got the right plane or so it seems but I don't see anything in or on the package that tells me so.
It's a Dragon USA exclusive # 50161

Thanks a lot

Patrick

As far as I know , this (Levine USAAF Spitfire) is indeed a limited edition of approx. 1000 (?)

Any chance of some pictures when you get it in?

Its a pretty good model apart from Dragon's 'painting' of the tropical intake i.e. not recessed as part of the mold itself - I believe that their Bf109G has the same 'problem' (see, I can also 'count rivets') .

Patrick,
I have this model as well. I think you will not be disappointed - the mold is well done, the markings include a lot of the stencils, and it goes together fairly easily. To answer your original question, I looked all over my box and no where does it show that this model is a "limited" edition. There is nothing inside the box either like a certificate or markings on the stand that shows it is a limited edition. Sorry!

Thanks for the help. Nobody has a limited edition card so I don't feel so bad.

You are right on the mark about the Bf 109G intake. I never noticed it until you mentioned it.

Re: Dragon Spitfire Mk. Vb limited or not?

I have it and like it. Just wish Dragon would do another US marked bird in the grey / green cammo. Heck GA could do it for all I care. I don't have a certificate saying its a 1 of model either.
BTW, it took a while to stuff a spare GA pilot into that cockpit. Sure was tight, makes me wonder if the real ones were as bad.

Real ones had a small door for the pilot to get in

Roger, but GA's pilot still has no room at the shoulders.
