Not surprised given the state of the hobby and that Gemini has already produced (or over produced) the B/C..

Re: Dragon P-51B Nooky Booky Canceled

Dragon is slowly becoming the next Corgi as far as I'm concerned. Did the 8 Gemini Aces P-51 Bs really scare Draggin' that bad. Um... in case they haven't noticed, GA hasn't made a new Mustang in months.

Gemini is/was just getting started. There are so many liveries for the P-51 B/C, they could go on for a good long while without boring folks. Unless your some ubber geek that just can't accept more than two or three of any one model.

No, I am not some "uber Geek", but considering that Gemini produced (6-8) different B/C Mustangs over the span of 1-1/2 year which, IMHO, is too many in such a short time.. Gemini basically flooded the market and when you add Corgi to the mix, you have way too many..

Wow now at ease in the harness. I was shooting across the general publlic's bow, not yours. In and out, breathe slowly and relax. Think calming thoughts.
Second, if you count the Corgi examples that is a serious stretch. But the kiddie collectors have to start someplace I guess.

I think Dragon goes where the money is. The planes weren't producing enough return on investment so they are dropped. But at least Dragon has other things to get into besides diecast. Corgi is a diecast company and if they are having problems with all their lines they are in trouble.

Re: Dragon P-51B Nooky Booky Canceled

I don't terribly mind that these were canceled - I have two Gemini P-51Bs on their way (Hun Hunter & Berlin Express). Can't wait to see them. I do love my Dragon P-51Ds though... kind of curious as to what their version of the B would have looked like.

Oh well! They don't call 'em "draggin'" for nothin'!

If Dragon got this far into the development before cancelling, the tooling for these planes may exist. If this were the case, wouldn't it be great if HM bought the tooling and released them as HM planes?

Personally, I think that the DM P-51D is the best D-model out there, bar none. I am sure that their P-51B/C mold would be just as strong.

It will really be sad if these two planes never see it to market...

Re: Dragon P-51B Nooky Booky Canceled

I could be wrong, but wasn't there also an announcement that the P40 was canceled at the same time as the P-51B? I personally find it dissapointing as you can never have to many P40's. < lol >

HWorth18 is right though, Gemini flooded the market. Too Much To Soon as the New York Dolls once said. I'm just hoping that if we cannot have Dragon P51s that Gemini continues with the mould.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Dragon P-51B Nooky Booky Canceled

Mr. Chairman, a point of personal preference, if I may. You're goning to love that Gemini "Berlin Express"; it's one of their best in my opinion. I also have two other Geminis; "Bald Eagle" and "Ferocious Frankie", but snce I already have 18 P-51s I doubt that I'll be adding another one soon. As for Dragon P-51s, I have two of theirs: P-51D Blue 375thFS/361stFG and P-51D 12thFS/18thFG Korea "Shark's Mouth. The DW P-51s are very well done, not in the same class as the Geminis, but nothing to be hidden away and never seen again either. I hope all this doom & gloom about Corgi and Dragon proves to be false: they both produce good stuff.
