Broken Canopy

The canopy of my VFA-11 simply just snap upon opening it. this is the first time I have experience this. The canopy didnt break, its just that it would not stay in open position and can easily be remove from the cockpit.

Anyone has this experience? any remedies? or will just have to leave it in a close position....as there is not actualy any physical damages to the canopy.

Re: Broken Canopy

Hey dude, the only thing I can think to tell ya is if you don't mind it being closed just use a small amout of white glue to hold it down.

I'l bet the same thing might hold it open, you'd have to prop it open while drying, of course.

Re: Broken Canopy

I was realy hoping to fix this, since I rotate my displays every now and then, close-open canopies, stand and without stand etc...

but its the only model so far having these problem, guess if there is nothing can be done, will just have to leave it as it is " closed "

Re: Broken Canopy

This may sound stupid ( I often do) , what about a tiny piece of sellotape to hold it in the open position, a sort of hinge ?

You mean, wrap a tape on the hinge to make it tight?
