Re: No swastikas on Dragon german aircrafts ?

Hi

I guess djjeffhall in his post above explained it well. I do understand Dragon somewhat, you have to stay in business prior to anything else.
If I have to start customizing diecast well I have 300 models in the basement, might as well build one all the way from the start. But there are other brands like Corgi that put swastikas so that's the route I will take.

Thanks

Patrick

Re: No swastikas on Dragon german aircrafts ?

I look at my dragon me 109's and then look at my gemini and see that they have the swastikas and say to myself " why dragon why??"

Isn't that the wife asking why you're buying more diecast?

Re: No swastikas on Dragon german aircrafts ?

I really like the quality of Dragon's Bf 109Gs, Fw 190A & D models, Junkers Ju 87 and to a lesser extent their Me 262 and Bf 109E models. AeroMaster Decal Swastika sheet runs me about $7.98 and probably comes out to .40 cents a model to put on the Swastikas. With just a little bit of effort, you come out with some really nice and properly marked aircraft. If you want a 1/72nd scale Fw 190D and Bf 109G, well not many other choices out there. Have to admit that I really like their Fw 190A models too, currently have eight and will be adding another one shortly.

Re: No swastikas on Dragon german aircrafts ?

Missing swazis wouldn't stop me buying a model.

If you look at some of the work the guys on forum do to "improve" the look of their planes then you can see the way to go.

If a collector adds authenticity and perhaps a little weathering, in my opinion this makes the model even more desirable than the manufactures so called Pristine model.

A few minutes work and you can soon have the old swazis in place, no problem.

BTW , I am lucky enough to have acquired models from forum members that have been improved in this way and they are my favourites amongst my collection.

It's funny that you just said that. My wife is pretty laid back but I just showed her my first 2 diecast planes displayed in my cabinet with my built 1/72 jets, she starting nagging me about all the models I have in the basement and yadayadayada....I just told her "You are good to go now". LOL!
Why is it ok for them to own 72 pairs of shoes but we can't load on toys!

Take my home, my family, my dog and my clothes if you want but don't you dare touch these models

Might as well build a model, don't you think?
Buy a diecast, weather it, add decals, P.E. parts maybe, I would rather build from a kit, but that's me.

Good point, but to pass up on a model when all you have to do is add a couple of decals,,,, Nope I put the decals on.

I like some HEFT in my models.

Patrick

You are trying to apply logic where none exists.
Women are like that.

They have been known to say things like, "you've got one, why do you want another.

Or , yes but you can wear shoes!
