I haven't been able to find any history on the real bird. Was this ever an actual paint scheme on a real F-18 and if so, how long did it last before being re-painted in service colors?

Yeah there was a real F-18 with those markings, although it did not have white panel lines all over it. But the base paitn scheme is real.

The camera flash artificially accentuates the panel lines and makes them look white. They're actually not that bad and are, in fact, dark grey. This is Dragon's token redemption bird.

I have this diecast too and mine doesn't show the 'highlights' as much up close in ambient lighting. I think it's the "glow-in-the-dark" properties of the panel line ink used by Draggin?
