Best F-18C Poll

I'm curious to see who you think makes the better F-18C. I have a few of the Dragons and like them. Is Witty better?

Re: Best F-18C Poll

I plan on replacing my dragon superbug with a witty version soon unless someone has a good reason on why witty's version isnt worth it. I'm just plain unhappy with my dragon version.

Re: Best F-18C Poll

I mean the early Hornet - not the Super Hornet.

Ok okay....guess I should have paid attention to the C designation there

Re: Best F-18C Poll

Wait a minute Tyler...I think I made the mistake. Witty may not have made an early F-18C Hornet. Sorry!

Re: Best F-18C Poll

Witty only makes Super Hornets. And while Dragon's Legacy Hornet is pretty nice overall, their "C" is about half A and half C--it's got the 2 most obvious things C's have, but it also has the A's main identifying feature. (Their B looks to be almost purely a B though, but it might have D tailfins)

Yikes! So is Dragon the only choice we have right now for a pre-Super Hornet Hornet? What is a "Legacy Hornet"?

Re: Best F-18C Poll

A Legacy Hornet is any Hornet that's not a Super Hornet. In other words, the F/A-18A, B, C, and D. You can also call them baby Hornets, though that's a lot less official.

Re: Best F-18C Poll

David, despite it being known Navy parlance,I think you're the only one on these boards who calls them legacy Hornets.

And yes, Witty has not made any 18C/Ds, only E/Fs. The E/Fs ARE superior models, with the only real downside being their permanent gear-down mounting. You can find 18Cs and Ds from Franklin Mint, but they are rather inaccurate. Dragon's early Super Hornets are similarly shoddy, but Dragon is also the only one to put out A VF-103 Hornet period...

That said, I do like the scheme for the Golden Dragons Hornet, and own that Dragon bird. I would dearly like Witty or HM to take up a proper Hornet, though. Favorite fighter EVER.

Re: Best F-18C Poll

Well, I usually say "Hornet" to mean an early one, and like to write "Shornet" for current ones.
