Re: dragon next year??

I'd be happy if Dragon would just get the Black Aces Tomcat out sometime in the next year... It's only been what? A year or so since they announced it?

Re: dragon next year??

I'm hoping Dragon's B-17G mould is (a) good and (b) released on time. I know, that's asking a lot...

July 2005 to be exact. I used to look forward to this one as well, even e-mailed Draggin' several times to inquire about it, and of course received absolutely zip, zero, nada in response....but after CW came along with their far more impressive Cats, I have no desire for it anymore (even though it's the VF-41 scheme I wanted)....I think it ended up in the same purgatory as "The Lord Is My Shepherd" P-51...In other words, don't expect to see it in 2008 - or ever.

(and Folgore, (b) is asking a lot and (a) is just being downright ridiculous....I take it you've seen their 'F' version?)

I'm certainly not opposed to spending 60 bucks for a toy airplane, but not being as much of a stickler for detail and accuracy as others are, I'd much rather spend 35 bucks for something that makes me just as happy... Although that CW Grim Reapers is really speaking to me, I don't think I can hold out much longer... Dammit

Re: dragon next year??

Somehow I sense a definite slowing down of Dragon's momentum where 1:72 scale diecast planes are concerned. Could it be that they think they have done all of the planes that they can mass produce and sell profitably? They claimed to have a P-38 on their future menu way back in 2005, along with some interesting 1:144 scale entries. But now there is nothing but silence about such plans. Thank God, we have Hobby Master , Gemini and Century Wings to fill this growing void.

Yeah, you ain't kidding. It makes me sad -- I first moved up to 1:72 from CDC Armour's 1:100 planes by buying Dragon models, and they still make up the majority of my fleet, but I'm afraid as far as the Warbirds line is concerned, Dragon is just barely alive. (If you try real, real hard you can think of their recent spate of re-releases as zombie releases.)

Folgore, (b) is asking a lot and (a) is just being downright ridiculous....I take it you've seen their 'F' version?

*sigh* I know. Just tryin' ta be optimistic. I still like Dragon's design aesthetic generally, and hope the Warbirds line comes back from the (near- or un-) dead.

Re: dragon next year??

Well, I'm hoping for more Dragon F4 Wildcats. They've only put out two so far, so I assume they would need more liveries to make the mold profitable. C'mon, Dragon, I need a Butch O'Hare!
