Re: dragon next year??

July 2005 to be exact. I used to look forward to this one as well, even e-mailed Draggin' several times to inquire about it, and of course received absolutely zip, zero, nada in response....but after CW came along with their far more impressive Cats, I have no desire for it anymore (even though it's the VF-41 scheme I wanted)....I think it ended up in the same purgatory as "The Lord Is My Shepherd" P-51...In other words, don't expect to see it in 2008 - or ever.

(and Folgore, (b) is asking a lot and (a) is just being downright ridiculous....I take it you've seen their 'F' version?)

Dragon is kind of a mixed bag, love/hate relationship for me. They make some awesome, as mentioned, planes.....aesthetically speaking. I love their P-47's and P-51's and personally think these represent their best efforts but, IMHO, Dragon is arrogant. They seem not to care a lick about customer service or just plain what the customer asks for! I saw this all of the time when I collected 1/6 figures. People would ask for anything but German or at least a 1:4 ratio of anything to German. In response......Dragon would continue to pump out Germans. The only time they'd announce non-German figures was when they were trying to steal the spotlight from another manufacturer who had recently announced their intentions.

I know alot of people here have complained about Dragon's Warbirds inaccuracies only to have their complaints fall on deaf ears. They never corrected their F-14's or F-15's. They barely made corrections on their Super Bugs and they certainly don't apply what they learn from research (if they ever did any) to weapons load outs, liveries, etc. Another crappy thing they do (and it seems like 21st Century is following suit) is they'd announce something never to be made. That's the kind of tease most collectors don't need because, I for one, always wait with anticipation for the next new release!

I would love to buy their products, because most are very crisp, but it's hard to overlook that they don't seem to care about their customer's concerns! Sorry for the rant and going off topic, it's just Dragon frustrates me to no end with their business practices.

Re: dragon next year??

Well, I'm hoping for more Dragon F4 Wildcats. They've only put out two so far, so I assume they would need more liveries to make the mold profitable. C'mon, Dragon, I need a Butch O'Hare!

Two? I have five of them, one being the cyber hobby verison. I agree a O'Hare one would be nice. Didn't he fly Hellcats too?

Your are correct, he did. He was also flying a Hellcat when he was killed under somewhat mysterious circumstances.

If I remember right this occurred while flying a night fighter mission and either it was a case of friendly fire or defensive fire from a Betty bomber.
