Dragons future...

Does anyone have any idea when the supposed f-117's are supposed to be released by dragon? It seems to me that dragon is slowing down and we dont have any contacts like with the other companies to let us know whats happening...

Re: Dragons future...

I'm still waiting (and am sure the rest of us are) on their supposed P-40 and P-51B/C to materialize.....

Bingo! Overall, Dragon still tops the charts in my hit parade -- HM and Gemini Aces need to release more models before they can topple Dragon -- but they are slipping. They came on stong a few years ago, but they've been erratic lately. Their last new mould, the B-17, didn't even make the charts, their schedule has left fans waiting and lately they've focused on repackaging old material. Let's hope their next release can put them back in their fans' hearts.

And now, a very special dedication...

There -- that's my best Casey Kasem-meets-MHII impression.

Re: Dragons future...

I happened to visit the local distributor for Dragon last Sat and was told that they are currently focussing on producing model kits at this stage. As I collect only the modern jets, the only few items I can look forward to now are the re-released VX-9 F-14D and the two F/A-18Fs that come with crews. Wonder if the F-14D comes with dual chin-pods and the F/A-18F with the corrected air-brakes.

Re: Dragons future...

If Dragon stopped producing diecast aircraft it would have zero impact on my collecting future.

I have been disappointed time and time again with all but the P-51D.

Re: Dragons future...

With wittys aircraft quality going down the toilet whom else will we rely on then for modern fighters? Obviously not corgi, hobby master is focused elsewhere and hobby master is slower, producing mainly older naval aircraft. What has the market come too!! There are no models that accurately depict (that have quality, wanted schemes, and accuracy) of the F-117A, the F-22A the F-15E the new A-10C and many of the F-16C (block 30-50) variants........ Although century wings seems to be the most accurate maker out there at this time, they have taken quite a while to produce a new mold and have only done naval variants so far. Without dragon we are sure to see more butchered variants of these aircraft. Like gaincorps "F-22A" and wittys new MIG-29UB......

Re: Dragons future...

Can you honestly say that Century Wings does not qualify or Gaincorp?
Do you think Dragon makes a better F-14?
What are the major problems with Witty's F-15?
Hobbymaster has produced several modern jets and is still doing more.

Last time I was at Barksdale I remember seeing a line of diecast aircraft in the Base Exchange. Line had a F-16 and a F-15 if I remember right and looked to be 1/72nd scale. Since I collect prop jobs never paid much mind to them. Packaging of models compares well to what I have seen with most diecast companies, but next time I go in will check and see who puts these out. Not sure if they may just be put out for AFFES.
