Dear Hobbymaster, please note the detail on this model. Its a 1/72 scale, look very closely and YES RIVET DETAIL.
Of course its slightly overstated due to the small scale but it looks OK.

Now when you decide to make another model the first step should be to buy a Dragon Tbird or Mustang and look at what the potential is for a 1/48 scale model.
You can then make a model that will sweep the market and have everyone buying into Hobbymaster, sales will soar through the roof thus allowing you even more funds to invest in even better detailing for the next release and so on until Hobbymaster will be the premier diecast model maker.
Its that easy.

Its not too late to go back and fix that Spitfire. NO IT ISNT!

AMEN to that, Jimbo!

Only thing is, Hobby Master will make the bird you wish but in some other nation's markings first. You'll have to wait for the 5th or 6th release to get the one you truely want.

Re: why are Dragon P-51D's so good, pic's

Phantom,

Nice photography. I agree that nobody makes a better 1/72 D model.

In my opinion there are 2 problems that I wish Dragon had addressed. In profile the windscreen is laid back too far. And the fuselage insignias are incorrect (the points of the stars should not extent to the edge of the circle). I tried to point this out to Dragon early on but without any results and as far as I know all their US P-51Ds have this error.

Now I would agree these are minor but because this was an otherwise great effort by Dragon, it is too bad... Insignia problems are common among all the diecast makers, however that would be unlike to happen with plastic kit makers. Those buyers are less tolerant of mistakes like these.

Here is a link to my insignia page: http://www.ronsarchive.com/USInsignias/index.htm Note the caption under the B-17 photo.

Looking forward to Dragon's P-51B. It could be better than Gemini's.

Ron

Just for the heck of it I shot some pics of my Dragon F-6D (phtoto recon P-51D).
Nobody makes a better D Model 1/72 Mustang, only drawback with Dragon Stangs are some loose fitting parts.
