Re: dragon P-38

The Mustangs and T-bolts are better than the Pooch so I hope this holds true. They may have missed the boat some but the HMS Parsig is on the way and there is plenty of room in the hold.

Re: dragon P-38

It wouldn't completely surprise me. It's been said elsewhere the Dragon tends to see a plane that another manufacturer is successful with, and then just on board with their version.

I heard intel that it will debut in AWOH (A Weekend Of Heroes) or one of those DML/Dragon Expos to be held later in the summer. We shall see...

Actually, in this instance, Dragon has simply been slow to market. Dragon announced that they were working on a P-38 tooling even before we were told that Corgi was not going to do a P-38 of its own (remember Uncle Albert's comments about weight and balance issues?). It was part of their early announcement of development of P-40 and P-51B/C toolings. Sometimes Dragon takes so long to actually get something done, we've forgotten they ever promised the thing in the first place.

Personally, I have been very dissappointed with Corgi's P-38 (only purchased one) and if the news is true I will definitely wait for Dragon's releases. Dragon's P-51, P-47 and F4U releases are superior to Corgi's (IMHO) so I would only expect the same for the P-38. In fact, I am starting to think that DM's F6F is better than even HM's effort (fidly bits and all).

I agree 100%, Raven. And I'll add Dragon's F4F Wildcat to the list!

According to Dragon's 2005 catalog, the following were announced as "coming soon": In 1:72 scale- F-117A "Nighthawk", F-4F, F-6F, JU-87, ME-262, P-38, P-40, P-51B/C and the Tornado. Their 1:144 scale listings included the B-17, B-24, B-29, HE-111, HE-177 and the Lancaster while the 1:400 scale coming attractions were the AC-130 Spectre and the B-52. So far they have turned out most of the planes listed and I look forward especially to the F-117A and the HE-177.

Smile Re: dragon P-38

Odd isn't it? We love 'em, hate 'em, then love 'em again. Odd bunch aren't we? I'm glad that we sometimes just step back and reflect. Often they're not all that bad. I'm just looking at a few Dragon Warbirds that need Swasikas. I'm convinced that once they have them, they'll look even more cool. Even the much malinged Me 262 nightfighter, so I'll look to sort it out first. Hhmmm, where to get more swastikas? Got 4 Dragons and 4 IXOs.
