Question Dragon Wings 190s

Last edited by stalag8611 : 04-25-2007 at 03:07 AM. Reason: typo
I've always liked the FW-190, one of the great fighter planes of WW II, so I've decided to build up a hanger full of them. I already have five: 3 Dragons; 1 Corgi and 1 Easy Model. Before I go farther down the road,, what's te general take on Dragon FW-190s. Yeah, I know about the fiddy parts problem, having already been there. That aside, I like the issues I already own.

Re: Dragon Wings 190s

The Dragon Fw-190A and D are probably some of Dragons better releases.. The only problem I have had is, that it is tough to get the landing gear pitched/raked correctly..

Re: Dragon Wings 190s

I have 5 of their 190's and I think they are great. Only one of mine had issues with the landing gear.

If you haven't already, I highly recommend getting Walther Dahls 190

Re: Dragon Wings 190s

Generally, due to the 'realism/detail' factor I like Dragon Warbirds a lot, including their FW190s - the 'papegai staffel' (red undersides) is particularly impressive .

(A little white glue also goes a long way .)

Cool Re: Dragon Wings 190s

I only have one Dragon Fw190D9. Quite a few Corgis though. Don't like the Dragon fiddley bits and lack of swastikas. Of course your influence will doubtless have and impact.

Oh yes, I love that version!

Re: Dragon Wings 190s

The Barkhorn Dora is suberb with no U/C problems. Black 7 and Yellow 17 A models are highly recommend but I found the spindly U/C a head wrecker!

Re: Dragon Wings 190s

I have a whole squadron of the Dragon Bf-109s (I can't explain how that happened ) and quite a few of their 190s. I really think the Dragon 190s a very well done with the aforementioned "Papegai Staffel" being my particular favorite.

I really love the Dahl's FW190 however I have two questions: was the eagle outlined in red and was this "blue 13". I have noticed similar 190s from JG3 during the same time period had the eagle outlined in red (for those that collect artwork check out Richard Taylors new print titled Ramraiders). Regardless, I am still a big fan of this FW190!

Re: Dragon Wings 190s

Hey there.
The Dragon FW-190's are really nice. I'm biased towards the Karl Borris "Black 7" with the kill markings on the tail, but any of them are wonderful. The FW-190D is only available from Dragon so that is an added plus. Yes, you do have the fiddly bit issue but I like spending some time with my birds so its not big deal. If you are having fit problems, a drop of Elmers White Glue will always fix that.

Anything for a weird life.
