Dragon Me262 'Red 35'

Although I've packed away most of my 1/72 scale aircraft some of my 'Dragons' are still on display as 'disassembling' them would be something of a chore, not to mention the fact that I like the realistic 'feel' of these models . Although Dragon aircraft have some 'fiddly bits' these are in many repects the price one has to pay for realism as well as the options that they offer over some of their counterparts such as Corgi. The fact that one can choose to have the canopy open or closed, will of necessity entail that there will be more parts, unlike models that only come with one option - usually glued solidly shut.

This brings me to the essence of this post. When I stopped collecting 1/72 I had not as yet assembled my Red 35 Me262 (flyingmule.com/products/DM-50243) and it has languished in the box ever since . Yesterday, I thought that it would look good next to my other Dragon models and proceeded to take it out of the box for assembly. This model is truly a thing of beauty with far superior detailing than the Corgi version (in my opinion). The fit and finish was perfect and assembly was incredibly easy - no 'fiddly bits' - everything fitted perfectly . The cockpit detailing of this model is also superb, down to the individual seatbelts (painted on) - placing an old Corgi pilot figure in the cockpit made it look even better .

This is definitely a piece of die-cast that can be highly recommended as it is truly superb in all respects .

One sheep to rule them all ...

Cardinal,
Hey there.

I agree with you that this is one fine peice of diecast. I just recently picked up the Winter Camo Radar version of the ME-262 and its pretty wonderful as well.

Anything for a weird life.

I've got the Adolf Galland one from CyberHobby and I really love the option of having the open canopy. And I agree that the detail of the cockpit etc is really fantastic.
