As far as the helmet goes on the figure, it is right as to what a current warbird pilot wears. Most warbird pilots wear the more modern helmets.

Do you mean the helmet with the pull down tinted visor attached to a garter?

The more modern helmet is worn alot, I actually think the FAA has alot to do with that.

I have seen some P-51D pilots just wearing a baseball cap sometimes.
I think the modern helmet looks better.
