The G-6 went from MG 17's to MG 131's. The bulges cover the belt chutes that would not fit under the normal cowling. The cowling was also much smoother looking than what is on the Dragon 109 G.

| Did the G's ever have guns in the wings? I know they disapered with the F's but I thought they came back later. Also what's the circular thing on the top? Not sure about that - it sort stands out like a sore thumb | |||||||||||||

The G's technically didn't have guns in the wings, but some did have guns slung in gunpods under the wings.. The "circular" thingy is the "DF" direction finder loop..

These gun pods are carried only to take down US 4-engined heavies... it would be suicidal to carry them into fighter 2 fighter dog fights... a situation the gun pod carrying 109s found themselves in quite often from 1944, the yr of total demise of the luftwaffe.
