Re: Regular release Warbirds w/ dio bases...

Maybe the pilot needed to take a leek and told the take off crew to hold up till he got back

The bathroom break would explain why non of the Hornets flight surfaces are in the correct position for a cat shot not to mention the nose wheel not being lowered in order to attach to the shuttle.

Re: Regular release Warbirds w/ dio bases...

Ok, I'm debating the whole Dragon approach to putting an existing model on to a diorama base. I've got every Dragon WW II aircraft model they have released, and I've already fallen for their trap when I purchased a few of the new releases with the bases. But, I'm NOT going to do it for every model they have already released, and wind up with a closet full of models I have no clue what to do with. As much as I like the look of the new bases, enough is enough! The LEAST they could do is put on a new paint scheme. I hate what they are doing.

Agreed.. The LEAST they could do is cover them with a green tarp or red tape or something!!!

Seriously,
I don't care for Dragons approach to this, but it is typical Dragon, and this is one reason their product isn't worth the box they pack it in... Now, I'd buy the bases if they became available, but I don't need anymore re-released planes/ tanks or other..

So why doesn't this send the signal that you shouldn't buy the regular version- just wait and it will be out with a base?

Re: Regular release Warbirds w/ dio bases...

Hi, Deciding to wait on new Dragon releases for the models to come out at some later date with diorama bases, may not be an acceptable solution to me. We don't KNOW that Dragon will provide all future models at some point with diorama bases. So, here's my decision. I'm going to buy enough of the "new" releases with the diorame bases to have one for each aircraft type. That will add an item of interest to break up the rows and rows of "bare" airctaft I have on the shelves. I deliberately bought some Matchbox models just to have some aircraft in "flying" mode to add a little interest. I'm on my third shelf 48" long x 14" deep shelf full of p-47's and staggering the rows I can the just fit them three rows deep. Now if I went to add the diorama bases I'd have to add a forth shelf. Heck the custom display cases with glass shelving are starting to cost me as much as the models I put in them!
