Dragon 50267 Me 262B

I really like the looks of the Dragon 50267 Me 262B. What do you guys think of this one? Easy8 mentioned that there had been some discussion that this was not a "real" camo scheme. What about it? It sure looks unique.

Re: Dragon 50267 Me 262B

I have this one and I think its great. I do not know if the camo is a real scheme or not but I think maybe yes!!!!!! Whatever the case I bought it because its a great looking diecast and did exist even if the camo is suspect. You will not regret it if you buy one.

Re: Dragon 50267 Me 262B

You know, it's not so much the camo scheme on the airplane itself -- although it does seem historically suspect -- as it is the teardrop fuel tanks with the B&W flame job that get me: They remind me too much of the guitars an '80s big hair hard rock band would've used. Boston's "Third Stage," anyone? *shudder* Just doesn't mesh with a Luftwaffe jet.

Now, if Dragon had used Blue Oyster Cult's symbol in place of the swazi ...

Unhappy Re: Dragon 50267 Me 262B

I was very disappointed with this release. I pre-ordered it on the basis of their 1st B model. The camo is nothing like you'd expect a Luftwaffe nightfighter to have. Possibly the biggest diecast disappointment of 2006.

If the Germans really painted this plane like this then it's no wonder they lost the war. What a god-ugly paint job. C'mon Dragon - you can and have to do better than this! ZS-VAN is correct - this one's a major disappointment.

I agree with ya Easy8 -- despite the apparent issues with the paint scheme this is one very cool looking 262.... I snagged one for $10 off the bay and really like the way it looks. Interestingly the paint scheme is close to what is shown here;

SA Me262

At least in terms of the green on what looks like white (on the stormbird) base...

The drop tanks are a bit silly for sure, though. (As are the tabs that are supposed to fit in the slots for the open canopy option... yeah, right! and the lowered gear didn't fit in the slots/tabs either--strange on they work perfect for some dragon 262s and not for others.... ).
