| Putting a part on the Dragon Wildcat 50247 O.K. I've gotten my first 1/72 planes. 5 from Dragon, 1 IXO, and 1 Hobby Master. My problem is trying to get certain parts to fit, esp. the Dragon planes. I have been working for about 30 minutes trying to get a small part on my Dragon Wildcat, 50247 - the antennae(?) directly behind the cockpit. For the life of me, I cannot get it to fit. Since the plane is metal, I can't make the hole bigger. The antennae is plastic, but very small. Do I need to "shave" this thing down? I have a jewelers magnifying glass, and still can't get it to fit. It is so small, that I'm afraid of literally severing the part that goes in the slot! I'm afraid I'm just going to have to leave it off. Anyone have a solution? Since I'm just now learning about planes, I don't know if the part is an antennae. Please excuse my lack of knowledge. I'm still learning all the plane terminology. Any help would be appreciated. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Putting a part on the Dragon Wildcat 50247 I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you, but I think that is why some around here do not care for Draggin'. I myself only have two, and one is not displayed due to fiddly bits, and pieces falling off! | |||||||||||||

| Re: Putting a part on the Dragon Wildcat 50247 I have two fo them and used a pin drill to open the hole up some. Then attached it with white glue. By the way, the antenna according to directions should slant forward towards the cockpit. I almost said cupola... Hope that helps.-Shawn | |||||||||||||

| Re: Putting a part on the Dragon Wildcat 50247 I trimmed a bit of the little male end off and Krazy glued the thing on. For re-boxing purposes, I will cut a little hole in the plastic packaging so I can pack the thing back up with the antenna sticking through. Hope that helps, aside from that little flaw Dragon's is definately the best Wildcat there in 1/72. Skysurfer808 | |||||||||||||

| Re: Putting a part on the Dragon Wildcat 50247 What shawn said about the antenna slanting forward toward the cockpit is correct. Make sure to look at the little sheet of instructions that should have come inside the box, and refer to the box's picture, if there is one. You can look up the photo on the FlyingMule or another dealer for reference also. I love the Dragon planes. They're awesome. But the fiddly bits are a pain in the tuckus! | |||||||||||||

| Re: Putting a part on the Dragon Wildcat 50247 Samse as skysurfer, I used an xacto blade to shave down part of the antennae and then used a bit of white glue to hold in place. I stay away from superglue due to the damage it can do to paint. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Putting a part on the Dragon Wildcat 50247 I finally realized that I wasn't going to sever a major artery, so, I took a finger nail file, filed down the antenna, applied some Elmer's glue, stuck it on there, and, bingo! Victory! Thanks for all the help. By the way, after reading some of the posts concerning the Corgi 1/72 Swordfish, I bought the "Sinking the Bismarck" one. Looks real nice. I'm going to have to quit this, my tanks are getting jealous. | |||||||||||||

What is "museum putty"? How does it work? How much does it cost? Where can I get it? | ||||||||||||||
