Dragon P-38

Found this on the Dragon Website, listed in the "Dragon Models" line...so this would be in kit form, but could it mean a built up version could be on the way? Here's the link too....http://www.dragonmodelsusa.com/dmlus...sp?pid=DRA5030

Re: Dragon P-38

Now that's what I'm talking about, three piece Dragin landing gear assembly, oh man!

Really though, if these are made and they are like the T-bolt QC, then I'm in and Corgi is screwed. Can you imagine a P-38 that puts the pooch to shame the way the P-51 does. How sweet that would be.

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

Re: Dragon P-38

Someone once told that these are not diecast but a plastic model kit.
That item number DRA 5030 looks to be a plastic kit.
Who know's what Dragon's thinking i'm still waiting for that Mustang

Re: Dragon P-38

Many times Dragons kits are an indication of what is coming in diecast..

I won't be holding my breath though, because if Dragon does eventually make these in diecast, they'll make 50 gillion versions of them and they'll be worthless..

Re: Dragon P-38

Hworth,
Hey there.

Should Dragon make a P-38 it may not retain much resell value, but it will probably be better than what Corgi is doing with the P-38. Plus, it'l have an opening cockpit and sharper details. I'll gladly take that trade.

I bet Hobbymaster could do a fine P-38, but my main complaint with Dragon is buying a plane for $25 and if I get tired of it or decide I don't want it, I can't sell it for $10.00.. I like to think that I am just not flushing my money down the toilet and that I can atleast sell the piece for retail value..
That lack of residual value, no pilot and "fiddly bits" just isn't my preference..

Hey Harry, I'd probably take your Dragon cast-offs for $10, not sure I ever saw 'em that low in your "garage sales"

I hear you though, I'm trying to only collect at least the CH editions. Though recently their more interesting models are the regular releases -- Dallas Blonde and Rudel Stuka, go figure!
