New Release of FW-190

What do you guys think of Dragon's latest 190? I see they list it as a A8/R2 (Sturm), but I thought the Sturm FWs had reinforced canopies and upgraded cannon on the outer wing...did early version of the Sturm not have this? I like the scheme, but just not sure of the accuracy of this piece...

Re: New Release of FW-190

You're right -- it's an a8/r2 in name only.... like the Boesch release the cannon are omitted. Not sure how different the canopy should look? However they do attempt to model the armor plating around the cockpit with those panels on the fuselage...

Here's some pics and descriptiopn of the boesch...

Shame about the inaccuracies, but a pretty cool scheme...

If you look at the Boesch FW, it has an extra bar midway through the canopy, I believe that was for reinforcing the glass...

D'oh, you're right -- been a while since I looked at it. That's strange they don't include the same glass with this model ??

The Sturmbocks should have armor plating on the sides and armored glass on the windscreen and canopy.. It should also have the additional cannons outboard of the landing gear.. One of Dragons "shortcuts" again..

It is getting more and more difficult to buy Dragon's stuff. If HM or GA release an accurate A-8 I would buy it in a flash.

They really seem to have stepped OFF the gas and are just coasting on past reputation.....
