Dragon and Swazi's -- what's up with this?

Last edited by PappyB : 06-10-2007 at 09:39 PM.
I just noticed that the dragon 50014 BBD mustang has swazi's on its kill flags, but the GG -- which came out first, #50001 -- has x's instead. That's bizarrie. Did the line start out PC, dabble with historical accuracy, and then go back to PC?

Oh, wait -- Petie 2nd has 'em too.... strange! You'd think it would be one way or the other...

Maybe the Yeager Mustang was a little harder to make the swazi look like his.Because it's in 1/72nd scale.
If i remember right Yeager and Anderson's swazis looked a little different from the others of the 357th.

Maybe, I thought it was more for PC reasons though -- the Plagis spit has crosses instead of swazis, and as we all know the german birds don't have 'em on their tails. Why can they put a swazi on some kill flags, but not on others, and then not on tails (makes my head hurt )??

My Armour Old Crow and Matchbox Gabreski P-47 also have crosses instead of swassis??? So does the Corgi Eagleston T-bolt and Corgi has never had trouble with Swastikas? What gives? Check out Beeson too!

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

We just can't go around offending anyone!
It was all so bad that we are trying to brush it all under the carpet and pretend it never happened.......
Is that PC enough?

Geez you guys. Too much caffeine or something? No one's out to get your precious crooked crosses. Sometimes they are just as they are supposed to be...

The real Gabreski /Eagleston P-47 razorbacks had crosses, NOT swastikas and I believe that Beesons plane was the same..

Re: Dragon and Swazi's -- what's up with this?

Thanks Canuck and Harry -- I do know some of the planes did have crosses and dragon is right on some of the models. However, it is still strange why it's okay to put swazis on the BBD and then not the german tails and also, the plagis spit should have swazi's on it's kill markers... very inconsistent. I was just making an observation and wondering what y'all thought... time for another cop of joe!

Re: Dragon and Swazi's -- what's up with this?

Probably because a swazi kill mark isn't as offensive as one on the tail end of a German bird thus glorifying it. Maybe one day the world will wake up and quit worrying about offending everyone and just accept the reality of life. But don't bank on it.

The PC group sucks. "Enough said! That group called MATS (MOTHERS AGAINST TAIL SWAZIS) IS A POWERFULL LOBBY GROUP to the die-cast companies, but luckly a few like Corgi and Witty have looked the other way and told them to go jump off a cliff, but MATS still got to a few others like Dragon. Sad really. But at least they can't stop the decal makers.
