Re: changing markings

Looks good.... like that little logo on the tail area.
Seems to be really shinny are you going to use Dullcote ?

Re: changing markings

I was going to, but the real warbird has a lot of shine to it. I know the real one didn't, but the only one I have ever seen is the one in the museum, and it looked nice. It is this aircraft that I was trying to model. I don't think it looks too bad for one of my first attempts.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: changing markings

No problems, it just took a little time. I used Squadron decal remover. What was really great was that the Fm's P-40's come with the canopy off, so I didn't have to mask much. Yes, it is very addicting. I have done two now, and I am glad to have both of them in the collection.

Re: changing markings

You know chris,
Once you start doing this .....you will be doing more of them
I think it's fun to do if you have a extra one laying around and make what you want.

Re: changing markings

Same here man. I would never do it to my only one of anything in my collection, but I thought I would give it a try on a P-40 and Corsair purchased just for this reason. I am happy overall, in fact I think my P-40 paint job is better than te one that was on the model in the first place.

Re: changing markings

Great job MD! This is exactly why I think we need diecast that are pre-painted/non-specific markings or blanks. I know we discussed the pros and cons of this a while back, but I still think it's a great idea.
