My Marushin Tony Redo

I just received the "new" Marushin Tony I ordered, which turned out to be a reissue of an old model in all-aluminum livery. After overcoming various mildly annoying fit issues and finally getting the main landing gear glued in place---why can't they give us deeper mounting holes?----I set about my repaint. I used an AeroMaster decal sheet's paint scheme which replicated a perfect match for the Marushin model's markings, except it had green blotches, squiggles and drippings applied on all upper surfaces. Following the Japanese Air Force practice, I painted all control surfaces gray/green---an omission in Marushin's paint job---darkened the openings to various vents, applied some weathering to the engine cowl, gave the plane a number and, finally, laid on the green. This is still a work in progress, but the pictures on the following pages show how my Tony Redo looks so far.

Re: My Marushin Tony Redo

Excellent job on the Tony! Wonder why the folks at Marushin have not done something similar, because what you did looks great.
