| Nice, so far... But you still have to paint the back of the canopy, and the prop blades tip. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Fixing Up An IXO Defiant
I event came across a day fighter versions that did not have the yellow propeller tips, but the photos of the Defiant at Royal Air Force museum in Hendon does have the prop tips painted yellow though. Several of the inflight photos of both day and night fighters I have seen look to be minus the yellow propeller tips too. ![]() Hendon Definat pictures at this site:Boulton Paul Defiant in detail

| Re: Fixing Up An IXO Defiant Thanks for letting us see the end result, Epapazian! I don't mind the poorly done shark mouth - what I do mind is the thick coat of oil I had to scrub off of mine. I too would love to have a day fighter version to sit next to a BoB Spit and Hurri... we can all dream I guess. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Fixing Up An IXO Defiant
Must admit, I know what P.N.F. is saying, as most RAF a/c DID have yellow-prop'-tips. It's most unusual to see them without, but, looking at various pix, seems to confirm what Cruv' is saying. Anyhow - thought this might interest you guys ? It's a picture of the REAL DZ*Z of No.151 Squadron RAF, in-flight. RATHER NICE !!!!!!!! Notice the top-wing weathering.

Not often you run across a picture that is the same as the model. Talk about a warbird with some weathering too. Great looking shot and glad you posted it.

Wow. Nice shot indeed! It would be nice if someone other than IXO was to do this one up again, only this time with some 'grotty' detail, but I guess we should consider ourselves lucky for even having this one, eh? IXO seems to have the market cornered on the semi-obscure aircraft. (My fave of theirs is the Tony & Beaufighter) Albeit it does lack a certain amount of detail, it does carry the lines and the spirit of the aircraft well -- well enough for those with the talents to modify these aircraft superbly. Nice find, Hornchurch. I've downloaded this and added it to my archives!! Thanx for sharing! JPN
