Custom 1/32 Fw 190-A8

Here is my 21st Century Fw 190-A8 I repainted a short time ago.. It actually started out as a "Red 9" Fw 190-F8 but I decided to do my own scheme and modify it to a late war A8.. The only real modifications to the original plane were adding a blown canopy from a D-9 kit and adding brass tubing for the wing cannons/mgs..

This plane represents "Black13" from Jg54 as she would have appeared during operation "Bodenplatte".

WOW, that's gorgeous! Great job on the repaint, Harry!

Did the Bluenosers encountered this particular bird at Y-29?

Thanks..
No, Jg54 attacked airfields around Brussels-Evere/Grimbergen/Melsbroek and inflicted moderate to heavy damage on the airfields there on mostly RAF squadrons of Typhoons/Spitfires..

Outstanding redo, Harry. I wish we could get mottling like that------or even close to it-----on some of our diecasts.

Nice Job Harry; looks lovely !!!!!!!!

Did "Black 13" survive, or was it "taken out" during 'Bodenplatte' ?????????

I know our Air-Force lost Mitchells at Melsbroek (IIRC) as well as some rare old Handley-Page 'Sparrow' medivac transports (elderly Handley-Page Harrow 'ex'-Bombers) on some of the 'Bodenplatte' Begian airfields.

HC, and guys, Thanks for the comments..
I don't know if the A/C survived and any real history about it is unknown.. I just love the Jg54 scheme and I am so happy with how well it turned out that I am probably going to paint more, as I have lots of decals available..

I love it Harry! The mottling is really the thing that separates it. Look forward to seeing some others.

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!
