Re: Weathering Models

I might. Let me give that some thought. By the way are there any planes that are of particular interest to you in the WW II era?

I am interested in mostly Japanese stuff if possible...
I looked at the Collectors Airmodel CO website and you are right, they do ask a pretty penny, even for the unpainted stuff..

Re: Weathering Models

I like the way you gave them that battle worn look to them..
Looks outstanding..Great Job
I almost picked up a P-61 from Collectors Airmodel out of Texas and yes the price is a pretty penny.
Are the prices still the same?? The reason i asked is because the site has not been updated since 2002.

Their pricing was origionally meant to be competitive to the guys selling wooden models---which probably made sense in the early-mid 1990s. As far as their site being updated, I don't know what's going on there. I see their small space ads in some of the modeling magazines from time to time. Like its website, the ads, too, are rarely updated. They can't really make their prices competitive to diecast since their sales volume is probably too low to make that a profitable avenue to explore. They do offer a custom build service, using kits, primarily, plus molds of the original WW II ID models which produce rough , no-frill, copies. While I haven't dealt with them for some time, you might be able to obtain replicas of some interesting planes from this particular source, which is something of a rarity in our area of interest.

I tried to PM you, but the system couldn't "find" you. Please contact me at my regular email address, which I am sure you have on file. Thanks.

Re: Weathering Models

The ones you posted look great. I did not even realize they had no propeller until I read further into the posts.

Re: Weathering Models

I think you have done a remarkable job of giving the plane that battle weary look, very impressive.

Re: Weathering Models

That is superb work, Epapazian! Having done some casting of my own (nothing to that degree though) I can appreciate the work involved. I really like that Blenheim!
