| Repair- what glue to use My new Witty DN Seafury arrived with one undercarriage strut (don't know if that's the correct word for the part...) broken off. It's the bigger one of the two struts. It seems easy to fix but I am not sure what glue to use. I'm a bit scared to disolve the plastic... So, should I use super glue, kit building glue or something completely different? Had a similar problem with my Hanning Fw 190 & used LOCTITE Super Epoxy a 2 part adhesive which sets firm after 5 mins & so allows time to "fiddle" & is clear, it also does not give off the potentialy harmful (to paintwork & clear parts) vapour that super glue does.  | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Repair- what glue to use As the Captain sez, I would go with the superglue (cyanoacrylate).....Does Witty really use plastic for their wheel struts? On the other hand, Loctite Super Epoxy would probably work nicely too!... | |||||||||||||

| Re: Repair- what glue to use You might want to try cyanoacrylate put out by a company called Zap. They put out a product that is called Slow Zap or Zap A Gap. These two product as far as super glues go, are a more of a gel and not runny like most super glues. Makes it easier to apply the glue to only the areas you want it to go on. Have used these products for many years in model aircraft and model railroading construction. | |||||||||||||
