Re: Dragon F-16I Sufa Conversion

Thanks for the comment FVD...I looked at picking up Witty's Israeli F-16 and F-15 but for some reason can't make myself pull the trigger. Do you have either one of them? What are you thoughts if you do? I did get their Israeli Spitfire and am pretty happy with it.

I have the F-16 WT-WTW72010-11 (with a stylized red hawk on the tail and 2 x GBU-10 load-out) and I definitely recommend it. Only weak point really is the pilot, which looks like all Witty pilots, meaning pretty lame. Other than that, I think it's a very good model, and when you consider how few Israeli planes are available, it was a must-have for me.

I don't like the Witty F-15s so much because ot the inaccurate profile of the fuselage at the rear of the canopy (it's OK for the two-seaters, but they used the same fuselage mould for the single seaters), and the weird-shaped windshield/front canopy on the two-seaters. Which is too bad because otherwise they'd be the best F-15s available in that scale. Matter of what's important to you in a model.

Thanks for the input FVD...Looks like I'll be picking up one of the Baraks, but we may end up doing our own Netz repaint using a Dragon F-15, based on your Witty F-15 comments.

One thing I'd say about the Witty F-15s: the discrepancies I noted are not really noticeable if you display them with canopy open. And many forum members don't seem to mind the problem anyway, so it's a matter of what's important to you in a diecast model.
