GWS 109E to Graf 109G...

I am not sure if any of you guys fly R/C, but I am currently reworking a GWS 109E into a 109G that was flown by Graf..
Now this won't be an exact replica, just standoff scale..

I thought some of you guys may be interested..

I started with a foam E kit and I have sanded and shaped it a bit, will be scratch building much of the bird..

The exhaust just needs to look the part, as it will be seen from a distance.. I carved it out of balsa..

I think tonight I will work on the Supercharger intake, rework the spinner, doesn't look.. bulbous.. enough and put the gun channels ontop of the nose..

Here are a few pics..

I have an Alfa Fw-190A, flown it now for 200+ hours. Begining to go to the grave after a few crash landings Will buy a new one next year but not the Fw-190, thinking of the P-51B

One of my crashes was when I did a high speed dive with a vertical pullup with a snap roll, then I seen somthing fly of the plane. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???? Yepp thats the battery flying off at an altitude of 250 feet But it landed great inn an framers fiels only braking the elevator off

Looks great Tram, keep on posting pic of it.

Out of curiousity, what is a good inexpensive way to get started in r/c a/c?

Re: GWS 109E to Graf 109G...

Hmm.. the best way would be to find a local field, with someone you could fly with on a buddy box..

Or you could also pick up a simulator to help teach yourself..

You can pick up a RTF setup for less than $300 these days..

The Easy Star - hobby-lobby.com/easystar.htm

is a pretty good trainer and very durable..
