Re: Fixing Dragons Me-262-2B

So, are you going into production? We send our Dragons and you repaint and add markings for a price?

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Ron

I wonder whether there isn't a business opportunity here for a skilled detailer who wants to freelance in this area.....not me by the way. I took a quick count of the diecast planes I, myself, have significantly repainted- new paint over two thirds or more of the surface areas plus new markings- and gave up when I got to 75. And that's not counting tanks, halftracks, etc, which raises the total beyond 100. I'd love the option of sending a model along with new detailing specs and the required decals to a fairly priced pro who could do this kind of work for me. I've asked some of the guys who do kits to order along similar lines, but they don't seem interested. Has anyone else tried this?

Re: Fixing Dragons Me-262-2B

Honestly, I have thought about offering a repair/customization service, but I don't think people would be willing to pay the cost incurred by repainting/decaling a diecast, which could get expensive depending on the time spent and details added..

Re: Fixing Dragons Me-262-2B

Thanks guys.. I am looking forward to finishing this soon, and I'll take it over to Mark at Onmark to take better pics when I get done..

You prompted me to go up into the loft and find some plastic kits I built and painted some years ago.
I remember them as not being too bad.
So I went up there found them and had a look, I looked, said Hmm and put them away again, I just cannot match the skills some of you guys have.

Hworth 18,
WOW! That is a great job you did. Is there any chance we can talk you into giving us a blow by blow description of how you wen about this? Not that I'm about to try it, or would have mearly the skill required if I did, but it sure would be fun to watch the steps.

Anything for a weird life.

Hate to tell you this, but most of those detail pics of the Australian Me-262 have been badly Photoshoped!!!
