New Ray Sopwith Camel

Last edited by HotTrap429 : 12-28-2007 at 01:18 AM.
You know how you sometimes buy a model and regret it? This happened to me. I bid on this model on ebay because I thought it was a diecast model and in 1:48 scale. Sadly, I won it and found out it was a partially put together plasic model in 1:32 scale. Lucky for me it wasn't expensive. Well instead of complaining about it and sending it back - which would cost more than I paid for the model, I decided to keep it and have some fun with it. So here's my customized New Ray Sopwith Camel.

Re: New Ray Sopwith Camel

I bet it is the same seller that puts the word diecast in his title and or description. I sewnt him a pm one time saying how deceptive his ads were. he is using a play on words and at one time was using pictures of MP Fokker DVII's. He says these are diecast molds and not injected plastic mold. The dummy is using words to sell them. You have to inject plastic into the molds to make the models. It looks good but still would have sent it back with a threat to contact e-bay for deceptive advertising. It would have done no good as he is taking advantage of a grey area.

Re: New Ray Sopwith Camel

Of course you are 100% correct Louie. I did not give him 4 stars for feedback when it came to how the item was described. As you state, to complain would do no good, and sending it back was lots more trouble than it was worth. So I got to have fun and do some simple, but creative modeling. I don't think the finished product is awful. It's just not what I usually go for. It's good to try new things once in a while.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you have had dealing with a clown like this. Any way of passing on this guy's handle, so we will know who to avoid?
