Smile Repaint DML Saucy Susie

Here are some poor pics of the re-paint I did of Saucy Susie. I wanted another green P-47 bubbletop in the collection to go with my Lanowski one. So I got some decals from Super Scale International for Eileen of the 84th FS/78th FG. I may have buggered up the codes on the right side, but I couldn't find any pics of that side. So I went with what I'd do. Also, the decal set did not come with the invasion stripes, so this is Eileen as she looked prior to D-Day.

Nice Shawn! I've always hoped Dragon would do this scheme! Looks good....how'd you do the checkerboard cowl?

Well after the long process of getting that pink off the cowl. I had to repaint it white, then applied the kit supplied black checkers. Truth be told, its an ugly fit on the bottom. But hey who is looking?

Re: Repaint DML Saucy Susie

Great looking plane! If only DM would produce this scheme for the less talented among us. But please, no open cowl flaps!

Re: Repaint DML Saucy Susie

Appreciate the comments guys. And by no means am I an expert on converting these bad boys. The paint jobs aren't the greatest, nor are the color matches. But it gives me a better looking bird than Saucy Susie. I'm also converting the blue E2-S Mustang into "Old Crow". Pictures of that will be up soon If I don't get the boot for another discussion.

Re: Repaint DML Saucy Susie

Very nice paint job, Shawn. Frank Oiler's mount is my favorite scheme. He had this scheme on his previous "razorback" P-47 as well.

I've been planning to do this scheme on a spare MB P-47 for awhile now but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe one of
these days...

Thumbs up Re: Repaint DML Saucy Susie

Well done, Shawn! It's too bad Dragon or Corgi never gave us this one - I'd have found room for it.
