Re: I need a scan of a particular decal sheet

no problem, tell you what you can do send me a copy when you have reduced them.
would like to learn how to reduce and copy alot of my decal collection.

I don't really recommed the way I do it. It's very much a tedious trial and error process. Basically what I do is use Microsoft paint, go to file and click on page setup, and then reduce the size of the image until it is roughly the size of a 1/72 decal sheet. And after that, I print it out.

Like I said, not the best method to use. Especially if you're into conserving paper and printer ink. I know there is a better way to do it (especially since I cant just go to kinko's...the images are copyrighted after all) I just haven't discovered it yet.

That depends on the the brand and type of printer you own. If you own a laser printer, use blue decal paper. (Be wary however, as laser jets do not print in white. They only print in black and grey, so it's better to use for low viz schemes. If you own an inkjet, use white decal paper. In addition, buy some Krylon Fusion clearcoat spray which can be used as a sealer after the decals are printed. (or for best results, buy an ALPS MD-5000 series printer, as this type of printer prints in a variety of colors; including white.)

Then there is clear decal paper which is best used with b&w / color copiers. I don't recommend this because the decals tend to fade easily.

Re: I need a scan of a particular decal sheet

Okkay the project is finished. Thanks to Zed550's help, the decals are on, and the planes look super cool in their low viz schemes. So here they are, my "Simon and Garfunkel"

Both planes were created using the VF-154 cag birds from the century line. The markings themselves were custom made based on the traditional 1/72 specifications. The pilots names were created from scratch.

More pics on the way! Stay tuned!

Re: I need a scan of a particular decal sheet

If you have a 1:48 decal sheet you would need to reduce to 66.6% to get the 1:72 size that you need. Just set your scanner or copier to 66.6% and it should be perfect.

Panther10, your work looks great. You really put a lot of time and effort into dressing up those models.
