| Re: need help... Alot of times i have taken off old decals by use tape. I'll put the tape over the old waterslide decal and press on it good then rip the tape off fast and most of the time it comes off with no problems And yes you can use the same decals on the diecast. You want to prep it good just like you would to a plastic model use (Glosscote) and then apply the decals on it.... after that you can add a touch of (Dullcote) for a flat look or use (Glosscote) for a shinny look. Surface must have a glossy finish on it for the decals to stick better. I also use Micro Sol it's a setting solution for decals (it softens decals to confirm to irregular surfaces for a painted on look). JP | |||||||||||||

| Re: need help... If the markings are "tampoed" (printed on-not decals) then you'll need to use something like "Goo-gone" or fingernail polish remover w/acetone, but be careful.... You can also take off the underneath paint if you rub too hard.. | |||||||||||||

| Re: need help... Bernard - As hworth has said, most diecast has the markings stamped/tampo'd on (basically, painted on) so acetone is the best bet. A word of warning though, I've done several repaints and found it almost impossible to completely remove the markings without affecting the base paint beneath them, so be prepared for some touch up work. As for decals, no problem applying them to diecast. The same methods apply as for plastic kits. | |||||||||||||
