Talking What to do with "broken" FM/As...

Well, finally some time off! Time for some long standing projects to be done...

Because of incompetently packaged (send without the original box and wrapped only in paper) I have some "broken" FM/A models. A F-4 "Blue Angles" and a F-15E "Europe One". These ones bounced around in their respective boxes like cows in a twister!

The result of this was gears bent beyond repair or simply broken off. In addition to that damaged decals, broken canopies and so on. Well, regardless the excuses and partial compensations of the sellers I have them lying around and gathering dust. I though about doing something with them so I opted for no-gear conversions. I found out quickly that not every model is fixed that easily. The Eagle was pretty easy to do. The F-4 really drove me nuts! Not only did the gear doors not fit the gear wells but Franklin Mint painted some of them the wrong way! With no way to have them flush with the rest of the fuselage I simply glued them on the best I could.

Now that it's done, judge for yourself if it was worth the trouble...

Feedback is always welcome!

AA

P.S. All I need now are some sturdy and nice display stands!

Those came out pretty good. I'd say it was worth the trouble.

I'd have to say yes, it was worth it. But I, of course, didn't have to endure any of the work. Good job!

Who cares about how the bottom of the airplane looks anyway? But seriously, you did a great job.

Thanks for your feedback!

And it wasn't that bad regarding the amount of work I put into them.

Cheers,
