| Decal question Okay after all this swastika decal talk I bought some and added them to my Me-109 and my question for the modelers since I have no expierence with this if you notice in the picture will that glare go away as the decal settles or is there anything I can add? Also I looked at several pictures and this seems like the right swastika to use since there's 3 or 4 different ones in the set..can anyone confirm that? ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: Decal question After the decal dries, you can hit it with some dull cote. THat will take the gloss off of it. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Decal question decal silvering!...what you need to do is provide a gloss cote for the decal first, best stuff to use is johnsons clear or future, its a water based acrylic floor wax and is easy to apply by brush as its self levelling.i would apply to the area the decal is going on either the whole fin or mask an area with tape, let it dry apply the decal put some microsol/microset on the decal so it conforms to the surface, leave for 24hrs,clean the area with a baby wipe, let dry then put another layer of johnsons on and then finish off with some flatcoat.it may sound tedious but that's the way the experienced modellers do it | |||||||||||||

| Re: Decal question Thanks guys.....Zed I'll try that on my next one. The dull cote will help seal the decal to the tail too right? I was also concerned about the decals peeling off in a few months but maybe that's just beginers paranoia for you ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: Decal question No you got it. All of these steps will give the decal more protection over time, and a better seal. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Decal question What zed550 said. Except I use Testors Gloss Coat and Testors Dullcoat You can spray Dullcoat over the canopy too and pretend it's real cold out and it got frost on it. You could put a little figure on a ladder with an ice scrapper. | |||||||||||||

I use Testors Glosscoat (Gloss Clear#2017) and Testors Dullcoat (Flat Clear#2015). I get them at squadron.com. | ||||||||||||||
