Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

Good to see that you're still appreciating the Corgi 1/50 range Mr.Football .

The dioramas seem great but I've avoided them thus far due to the enormous amount of space they seem to occupy .

That Kursk T34 looks really good though, but I'm not certain about the odds given the Tiger opponent on higher ground - at that range perhaps all bets are off .

(Have you bought any of the 1/48 HobbyMaster range yet?)

Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

Very nice diorama. Pity its in 1/50. I've elected to go with 1/72.

What are your thoughts on the costs of the dioramas? I'm thinking of the Finnish Gladiator in particular where the diorama costs as much as the plane.

Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

Good to hear it's 1/50 so I don't nercessarily need to have it
Appears to be a late Tiger and the turret on the ground looks like a T-34/85, so it can't be Kursk, but this doesn't make it any worse.

Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

Cool. I love the Corgi 1/50 line but don't have any of the dios yet for the same reason as Cardinal. I have reached the point where I am now not even removing some things from the boxes as I have no space to display them . I'll have to swing by the hobby shop in the big city and take a look at this one in person, though, if only to see how she looks up close.

Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

I just saw this diorama. I really like it. I have several Corgi 1/50 scale tanks, and like them. However, I mainly collect Dragon 1/72 tanks, but wish that Dragon would take a lesson from Corgi on doing dioramas. Great diorama!

Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

This piece is just as historically accurate as Dragon Dioramas. It's beyond be what the upper part of T-34/85 turret (incorrect one at that as well) doing in the mud, rusted from prolonged exposure to the elements no less. Furthermore did Corgi produce early production Tiger model?

Regards,

Sergey

Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

What I like about it is the "extras." Mud, turret, half-exposed wheels, etc. They should have entitled it, "The Eastern Front," and they wouldn't have had to worry about it. You had better know what you are talking about before letting this forum see it! That's what I like about this forum - great "resource" people. Merry Christmas.

Re: Corgi "Kursk" Diorama!

I’ve not seen this one, but highly recommend the 61001 – It is outstanding. Pleasing muted colors, water in trough by the pump. The included Sherman is IMO the best of them all so far. You can tell they spent some additional time on this one. It has some interesting details. You can get one of these for 51$.
