1/50 Sherman Firefly

Did Corgi ever do a Sherman Firefly in 1/50 scale? I've just got the new Osprey Duel 'Sherman Firefly vs Tiger' by Stephen Hart and would like to add one to my small collection if manufactured. 1/50 IMHO is a perfect scale for armour.

It is odd that Corgi has not put out the Firefly. Definitely one of the sharper looking Sherman models.

Re: 1/50 Sherman Firefly

The only company, that I know of, that makes a Sherman 'Firefly', close to 1/50th scale, is Tamiya Masterworks, which makes a Firefly in 1/48th scale.

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

And Burbank's House of Hobbies still has it for about $40.

Re: 1/50 Sherman Firefly

What makes a Sherman a Firefly? Isn't a Sherman a Sherman?

Re: 1/50 Sherman Firefly

No

The Firefly has the British 17 pounder instead of the 76 (or 75) mm gun and a modified turret. The hull machine gun is also removed. IMO they are the finest looking Sherman, not to mention the most effective against German armor.

So is a RAM also a Sherman?

Re: 1/50 Sherman Firefly

The British 17 pounder was the only effective tank gun that could eliminate a Tiger/King Tiger. The Osprey 'Duel' series is an excellent read 'Sherman Firefly vs Tiger'.

I had a neat resin kit of the RAM a few years back, neat looking vehicle. How about the Kangaroo though?

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
