Favorite Corgi Sherman ??

What is everyone's favorite Corgi Sherman ? I was thinking about collecting either the "Blockbuster" 1944 version or the "Thunderbolt VII"..

Re: Favorite Corgi Sherman ??

I have the T-bolt and it's a nice model but the Marines' one with the flame thrower is my favorite follwed closely by the D-day one with the snorkels.
It even has the logs on the sides which I guess were for bouyancy.

Hi Steve:

Of the four Corgi Sherman's I own, the Thunderbolt (US51010) is my fave followed by the Sicily version (CC51006).

I had to check mine to see if they were logs and (blimey! ) you're right Parsig. I never looked at them that closely and passed them off as that collapsed flotation collar/device they fitted around some of the D-day tanks (you know, that ones that sank!).

I have to now keep myself from wanting to "fix" the color of the logs and make the look more like, well, logs.

Re: Favorite Corgi Sherman ??

I'm not a fan of early releases, but the ones from Forgotten Heroes (Korea), D-Day 60th Anniversary, and The Push Through Holland and Germany are all good. I rank those Shermans higher than anything out there in 1:32 and 1:35 scales.

Regards,

Sergey

Agreed, I think they're also better detailed than their 1/72 Dragon counterparts (which are excellent ).

I received the 1/50 Corgi Thundebolt VII Sherman today and can highly recommend it . It's the Corgi 50th Aniversary edition and comes in a 'retro' box with display stand/plinth. Price (eBay) was also nearly half that currently being asked by most online retailers.

(The gold satin material in which it's packed would satisfy even Skunky .)

Re: Favorite Corgi Sherman ??

My favorite would be the one that comes with the 61001 diorama. It came ashore with snorkels, but they have since ditched them, but the rectangles where they were are open. Inserted in each one is fine mesh screen – looks neat. The paint is outstanding. It also has steel cables lying on the top sides.
