Is there any indication yet whether the 'SOE' livery Lysander will sport the centreline fuel tank and the side ladder, as the PR stuff would indicate. Every picture I've seen for it to date shows it without either feature.

If it does have these extras I aim to get one - if it doesn't I won't.

Anyone got any info on the likelihood?

I doubt we will see any "extras" come with the bird. Then again, I'm pressimistic regarding such things. (Didn't stop me from placing a pre-order though.....)

This model is being released in August, 2000 quantity and will have the fuel tank and fixed ladder and no armament.

The real thing can be seen at Duxford Imperial War Museum.

That has a large centre fuel tank and fixed ladder, So it would be historically incorrect if it didn't.

I wouldn't count on the extras though.

It would be criminal to release this without the fuel tank or fixed ladder as, apart from the color scheme, it was a distinguishing feature. With the extra fuel tank fitted to ensure roundtrip capability plus a full load of pax/cargo and the added drag of a fixed ladder, I doubt if any weapons/bombs were carried at all. Besides, by nature of the mission, the crew would hardly want to draw attention to themselves by dumping smal bombs along the route!
