Have seen the 1/144 one lots, but I have yet to see a 1/72 one come up for a reasonable price.

Sorry to disagree with you Aircrafty, but almost all of those on Ebay lately have been 1:144 scale. I think we are more interested, in this thread anyway, (correct me if wrong) with the 1:72 versions of MB.

Re: Corgi B-17 Flying Fort

Nine O Nine. Corgi got the color right and I've flown in it. Had to overlook some things (wrong tail, no waist guns, omitted A on the wing) but I love it. Have Miss Minookie but despise the color, had to have a F though. Sentimental Journey is pretty for a silver one, gave her away as a present. Passed on BOL after I saw it, didn't like the way the clear plastic interior fit through the nose. (don't need to be beat up for that comment, just didn't like it enough to buy another 17), paint scheme is indeed beautiful.

If it helps, there was big discussion on MH I about how the ommission of the A on Nine O Nine wasn't necessarily an error -- something about how the real deal didn't have it initially or something, don't recall exactly

Re: Corgi B-17 Flying Fort

Both my Belle and BOL were TM purchases so I love them both! My favorite of the two is BOL - I really like the B-17G and the later war non-camoflaged B-17's. Wish Corgi would do a few more like BOL.

Re: Corgi B-17 Flying Fort

The squadron marking on the aircraft could be correct. The painting and unit markings were put on in between missions. I have seen pics of '17's flying with partially painted unit markings, because the ground crew wasn't finished putting the markings on the aircraft at mission time.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Corgi B-17 Flying Fort

"Bit O'Lace" does it for me. A close second, but wasn't on your list, is "2nd Patches".
