Re: Another price hike

The fact is, the market is under valued right now (except maybe IXO). The price dip that we have seen lately is due to the continuous entrance of new manufactures into the market.

I don't think that I would be so quick to hang the "Evil Doer" hat on Corgi's head. They are still the only models that consistently appreciate in value.

So don't vintage Ford Mustangs and I can't afford one of those either.

I'm not blaming Corgi for raising their prices just as I hope they don't blame for choosing not to pay them. I can live without a JU-88, PBY or Tempest. Over the past few months sanity has returned and now I'm being extremely careful about what I buy. I've come to realize that just because a manufacturer makes it, that doesn't mean I have to buy it.

Re: Another price hike

Let 'em die!
Corgi generally goes bust every few years.....then they get bought out and the cycle continues.......
Won't be getting any of Uncle Lofty's money 'til they hit the bins!
Sorry to all attending retailers but until The Hound stops crapping on everyone(including themselves) I'm spending elsewhere.....
Last Mug to realise they are being ripped .....please turn lights out......

Re: Another price hike

The price increase alone isn't exactly what bothers me. Heck, that just means more diecast will find it's way into Tuesday Mornings.
My main issue is that the current management seems to do just about anything they can to push collectors away. At this point I'm kind of surprised vendors will even touch them.

I love my Corgi's (yes Skunky, even my Mustangs. Especially the CAF Mustang ) and will keep collecting them. My fear is soon there will be no
Aviation Archive to collect.

That worries me too. It's my favorite brand to collect plus that would only leave me with Hobbymaster and the occasional witty and gaincorp.

Re: Another price hike

I couldn't care less about appreciation. I collect for the love of military history and the machines used making that history. And I will never sell my planes or vehicles. I know there are a few (many?) others like me. We history and machines of history lovers are the ones that are getting hurt.....and Corgi doesn't care.

Yes, I agree. I would not mind if my aircraft become valuable, but I certainly do not collect for this reason, or expect them to rise in value, and, all else being equal, I'd rather pay less for an unlimited version than more for a limited one that may or may not be worth more in the future.

Re: Another price hike

I must admit that prices are getting higher , i for one am turning more and more to kits as the quality of corgi has deminished and no decent releases of different planes are forthcomming , i get the satisfaction of knowing that i will produce a decent model for a few pence/pounds and is far more pleasent to view than a piece of metal crudely chucked together ..anyone want my collection of corgis are welcome to them , and i am not asking stupid high prices either

I thought you sold 'em all already I, unfortunately, am tied to the pieces of metal, crudely chucked together as I have neither the time, or the skills, to make a plastic kit look any better!

(And have you seen the new Gemini birds yet )
