Ju-52 Minesweeper (AA36902)

Since the Corgi Ju-52 seems to be generating interest, especially the floatplane version, I thought I would post a few quick pics of the minesweeper version which I received today. This is courtesy of the Motormint sale that Parsig alerted us to a couple of weeks ago. I will say that now, since I have it in both 1:72 and 1:48 scales, I am amazed at how flippin' big the Ju-52 must have been for its time. It is a big model alongside my other Corgi "heavies". My example is very well made and fits together nicely. And I really like the way Corgi made a stand especially fitting the model. So while I am personally not a Corgi booster anymore, I will happily admit that this is a great model and worth getting if you can.

Cool Re: Ju-52 Minesweeper (AA36902)

Mine is in storeage but when I do display it I think I will leave the "ring of confidence' in the box...

Just wish those MG's didn't look so large - they're more like 20mm cannon!!

Take it out and play with it

Because the model is fairly large I don't think the guns are as noticeable as those are on the early Ju-88 models. Still, they do seem a tad out of scale.

Well, you have a choice, so you have two options. I like the look either way.

Nice pics !!
I like the model too... Christmas time arriving (only 2 months and a half), it should be my next big one from Corgi... I hope so

Re: Ju-52 Minesweeper (AA36902)

I like this model, Black 6, I think it looks fine. I thought the engine cant was wrong on the wings but it seems Corgi got the this outward angling right. I am thinking the nose, from the front of the canopy to the engine cowl may be a bit steeped, but I am probably wrong. Anyway, great pics, thanks for posting.

Re: Ju-52 Minesweeper (AA36902)

Thanks for the comments Ara. I think what makes the nose look upturned is the plate at the top of the cowling that extends on to the fuselage. The camera angle helps to create the illusion as when it is looked at broadside it is just fine.
