Re: Flying Mule P-47 Don Gentile

It's arrived. Great looking plane. I love the Artwork

Unfortunatly I feel a little underwelmed with this after getting it in the same week as the Swordfish, Cat and Gemini treo.

Nice model - Martin has done himself proud. Its just up against some stiff competition at the moment.

IO am looking forward to seeing it. I think it was ordered with some other pre orders.

Re: Flying Mule P-47 Don Gentile

Working at home today when, lo and behold, my Gentile Jug arrived, just one day after my email shipping confirmation . Beautiful box art, ltd. certificate (though slightly crumpled ) and sparkling model.

One thing is certain: neither the Jug nor the Spit will be happy until they are joined by a B-model 'Stang.

Re: Flying Mule P-47 Don Gentile

I got my Gentile P-47 Razorback and it was nice box art the plane is heavy and it comes with the heavy stand which is better then the other one.
I only have one problem i don't like the canopy. That gab behind the canopy is a eye sore to me.
Other then that it's a nice looking P-47.

Re: Flying Mule P-47 Don Gentile

I like it. I placed it on an order with other preorders, so I will have to wait.

Starman, I agree with you on that gap. I might have to pass this one up...

That gap is bugging me as well, but I really like the art work on the cowling.

Re: Flying Mule P-47 Don Gentile

Well, that gap is there on all Corgi Razorback jugs, judging from the FEW I have and Mr. Tri's site.... so, it's the mold, not the model? The 262 has similar issues in my opinion.

I just got this bird, and while I dig the pilot theme I do have to say it's a pretty boring scheme. The noseart is cool (releasing as a noseart commission would have be a great idea?), some kill flags would have spiced it up a bit -- Gentile had a few kills in the Spit before going to the P-47, no? edit: Looking more closely I see two kill markings on the emblem on the nose..?

Still, it's very cleany made -- excellent overall fit/finish, though I did have trouble getting the gear to stay put without glue.

That said, Dragon's P-47s, with their myriad issues, just look better in my book
