Re: Tokens.. Redeemed Yes or No??

So H, only 2007 models carry these 'legendary' tokens ?
Since my 24 year Marriage went " ****'s-up" earlier this year, I haven't bought anything since the 'Pembroke-Dock' Catalina, or the 2 x Swordfish I bought (Silver one & Floatplane).
On the Poll, I sadly voted " Tokens, What Tokens ? "
Wouldn't have given a 'Flying-Fig', if there hadn't of been any mention of a "free" Halifax !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seems a bit harsh on collectors like me, who've supported Corgi over the (EARLIER) years........ & whilst I STILL maintain that I'm a "cherry-picker" when it comes to collecting (spare me the rude innuendo's, Gent's !) , rather than a 'full-on' I'll buy anything that comes out type collector, I've still managed to amass 35 - 40 models - mostly large stuff like B.17's, Lancasters & the like (their dearer, more expensive stuff), along with the 'older' C.97's & Boeing 707's (older offerings).
Judging by the (apparently) 'Lame' response from Corgi so far, that you guys are reporting - it not only strikes me as futile, but makes my (usual) 'Jaded' outlook/opinion seem as though "why bother" ?
Wonder if I'll be regretting my 'ignorance' to tokens, when people start eulogising about their "brushed Silver Halifax" (that appears to be the "carrot & stick" for these 'tokens') ?

Sorry to hear your life was interrupted earlier this year, I have been thru divorce and it totally sucks, hopefully, it'll free up more money for your hobbies..
Yes, only the 2007 releases carry the tokens, even if a plane was scheduled in 2006 and released this month, it wouldn't have a token.. This is the reason some Swordfishes/P-38s/Typhoons (and others) have tokens while others do not..

I can't say whether the Halifax will be worth the "freebie" or not, but I will reserve judgment until I have one in my hands and can give an honest opinion.. I know many have been comparing the Halifax to the Gold Club Mustang released to members earlier, and to be honest, I really didn't care for it either, but it is commanding a good penny on Ebay, so it must be collectible for someone..

Re: Tokens.. Redeemed Yes or No??

I will send my tokens in shortly. With two Halifax on pre-order I was wondering what to do with the free 'chrome' version. Then out of the blue I had it; with some very good super glue I'm going to put it on the bonnet (hood to USA members) of my car. I'll be the envy of the neighbourhood!! They can keep their Jaguar, Bentleys, Rolls Royces. I'll be driving a Volkswagen Halifax!!

Stick it on the roof, you may get enough lift with the props turning and wings catching the breeze to get airborne.

Finally got token #6 and will drop them in the mail tomorow with a short note w/ address and email. Hope I hear something from them.

Crossing my fingers as this was some trouble and expense.

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

I sent mine out back in August with my address and E-mail and still have yet to hear back from Corgi. Just a little note saying that they have received the tokens( which they did as I sent them registered mail) and that I am receiving a Halifax or not would be nice. I know I'm dreaming. Corgi communicating with its customers what am I thinking.

Re: Tokens.. Redeemed Yes or No??

Oooo, sending them with delivery confirmation does sound like a good idea. Thanks for the tip. I would not have done that had you not suggested it.

Gotcha Corgi. Denial is a river in Egypt, not an option for the you oh canine one.

Re: Tokens.. Redeemed Yes or No??

I sent mine in around late-July and hadn't heard anything so I broke down and called CorgiUSA in Chicago.. The lady I spoke with said she had received my tokens and I was on the list.. The reason I hadn't received a letter confirming was that they send the letters out in "batches" and they had received mine just as the last batch was mailed..

If all else fails.. Call em..... 1-312-302-9940

BTW, I asked if she had a time frame for delivery on these and she didn't know, and she couldn't get an answer from Corgi UK either..

Re: Tokens.. Redeemed Yes or No??

I spoke to Corgi yesterday regarding this and they said there are freebies still available in all the ranges. They did advise sending the tokens Recorded delivery.
