Just bought a BAe Hawk for $28 on sale. At the same time I noticed the new price is $51.99. Even though we've been prepared, it comes as a shock when you realize you really CAN'T afford the new line of models. Wonder if dealer will figure out some way to offer lower prices?

Only one on the list I am looking at getting is the Gladiator, with the new prices, glad there are not more on my wish list.
(Will we ever see their Bf 110 or Blenheim???)

Last weekend on the UK site someone posted a price list from a US dealer noting that their prices would have to go up on Monday due to the new policy. I decided to go ahead and pre-order several of the upcoming Corgi models. By my calculations I saved about 30% over the MSRP.

And don't ask who the dealer was because it is too late- their prices are now in line with everyone else.

I would have pre-ordered even more but they were only taking pre-orders on the stuff due over the next 2-3 months. So all the new moulds were excluded.

I just wonder if the POs from last spring will be honored.

Some examples of PO prices from 02/08 are:

$43 for the Gibson Mossie now $66
$34 for the Typhoon now $52
$43 for the 110 now $120
$102 each for the Halifax and Lancaster now $150

Those include shipping.

I preordered from the same dealer last July, but decided there was only so much prebuying I could tolerate. Would have loved to get the two Spits and the P-40, but like each of us, ya gotta draw the line somewhere. In July I also ordered several models that were being offered for 2008 from the same dealer, including the Thunderbolt/Mustang combo AA39914, but the dealer didn't allow preorders on it in his latest list, so I don't know whether he will honor the old price. I also have five fighters (including the Bf 109E Ihiefeld) from another vendor, but have narry a hint about how those will be handled. But, I'm hanging onto those orders until THEY cancel them...those orders could be like money in the bank!
