Question B-25 Mitchell "Heavenly Body"?

Would anyone recommend Corgi's B-25 Mitchell "Heavenly Body"?
If so, why is it a good model to buy?

I would, and I have it. The B-25 is one of Corgi's better pieces, and I like the nose art!

Re: B-25 Mitchell "Heavenly Body"?

I highly recommend it. It didn't fly combat missions during the war but it sure looks good. It was one of the B-25s they used during the filming of "Catch 22". That's what got my attention - "Catch 22" (by Joseph Heller) has got to be my favourite novel of all time. The nose art is pretty sweet, too! I think it's the best nose art out of all of them apart from "Crabb 2nd" and "Bats". It can still be had for a decent price on eBay from time to time - I got mine from choate76, who is well known for selling older Corgi.

I agree with the Captain. I have it, and it is a great aircraft. And, the legs on the lady are pretty nice.

( Now, if any of you want to make a comment about what I said about the lady's legs in the nose art, just consider that I have been married for 10 years, and anytime I get to see a different pair of legs they look good to me). Now, lets have some of the fun comments that I know you guys are capable of.

I might as well pile on--I have this model and I thinks it's sweet.

And, Skydriver, that babe's legs are pretty sweet, too.

Re: B-25 Mitchell "Heavenly Body"?

GUYS:

Thanks for the info.
As for the"Heavenly Body" not flying combat missions in World War II, maybe I've missed something but while researching it last week, I found this about the original "Heavenly Body" and its combat history:

Re: B-25 Mitchell "Heavenly Body"?

Interesting information there dragon - thanks!

I have this model and I think it is great. The paint is well done, and yes, the girl's got nice legs. (The plane too!)

A while back I did a review of the FoV B-25 and I compared it to this plane. I believe the thread is still there and the pictures are still active. Several months ago on the History Channel there was a show called "Save Our History". This particular B-25 was featured. The show had gathered a group of WWII vets who flew in the B-25 during the war. They gave recollections about what it was like along with a history of the B-25. In the show, these heroes were being given a chance to go up in Heavenly Body. They even let the bombardier drop some practice bombs over the desert. All-in-all, it was a pretty good special. That's why this plane means so much to me.

B-25 Mitchell Bomber, "Heavenly Body"

44-30748 is an aircraft that didn't see combat during the war, but it is currently painted to represent a combat aircraft

I have no idea what the tail number on the original "Heavenly Body" was.

I still love this plane, though!
