Flying Mule winter JU87 with Swastika's??

Will this model ever see the light of day now especially with Corgi's lunatic Swastika ban, i've considered this one but won't if it comes without one. Anyone pre-ordered and if so will you cancel now??

Re: Flying Mule winter JU87 with Swastika's??

I have a winter Ju87 and it has swastikas. I have a collection of over 100 1:72 WWll and the lack of swastikas does not bother me at all.

I think it comes down to personal preference. I have several Dragon Luftwaffe aircraft and they just don't look right without Swastikas. They stand out even more when displayed with planes that have the Swastikas.

I doubt you have this one, it's not released yet according to the flying mule site.

Shown as a March 2009 release, I doubt it will have swastikas. The previous Aviation Archive Winter Ju-87 has the swastika while the warbirds version does not. To be honest, I am mixed about the decision. It has not kept me from buying a release so far, but I would rather have them applied at the factory rather than having to do it myself.

Re: Flying Mule winter JU87 with Swastika's??

Same here.

I applied swastika decals to both of my Dragon Stukas (Rudel and the recent winter camo version with the gigantic bomb) and the Corgi Warbirds winter Stuka as well. It doesn't look quite the same. The policy change is a shame - I've rather been looking forward to getting a ski Stuka. It's been such a long time since TFM had a new commission. "Missouri Mule" was okay (most may not like it so much) but this new Stuka has the potential to be a much sought-after item in the future.

Re: Flying Mule winter JU87 with Swastika's??

I just did a count on my collection and I have fixed up 22 models to take away their Politically Correct Status. It is so much nicer when they come out of the box historically accurate. Corgie has put their models out for quite a few years with proper markings, shame Hornby feels a need to go PC on us. I guess Hornby is not all about accuracy after all.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Flying Mule winter JU87 with Swastika's??

I can't imagine that TFM would release a commission that is not accurate. The ski Stuka is being made to order, and to be sold exclusively in the US, shouldn't be an issue for Hornby.

Re: Flying Mule winter JU87 with Swastika's??

I'm with Kiwi Dave on this bird. Unless Martin is going to allow this bird to be distributed/sold outside of the Flying Mule, than Martin will have final say in Swazi/no swazi. If this were a bird being released generally, it would fall under the Hornsby range of mass market limitations. I've had this bird on order for seemingly a year now and I'll keep it on order. It's a good mould and unique subject. Personally, I think it will sit nicely with my Finnish Gladiator, swastika on the tail or not.

Anything for a weird life.
